... was stolen from Ballymany Stud in County Kildare. A ransom of £2 million was demanded, but was not paid. Negotiations were soon broken off by the thieves. In 1999 an IRA supergrass stated that they had stolen the horse, but the IRA itself has never admitted any role in the theft.
